Paul LecomtePaul Lecomte, CEO

Mr. Lecomte holds a bachelor’s degree in agronomy from Université Laval and has extensive experience in the agriculture and agri-food sectors. Prior to becoming CEO of the Fonds d’investissement pour la relève agricole, Mr. Lecomte was account manager with Farm Credit Canada, senior director of the agricultural market at the Côte-du-Sud Desjardins Business Centre, and in 2010, senior director of business development at the Bécancour-Nicolet-Yamaska Desjardins Business Centre.

 

Gilles Montgrain, investment advisor

Mr. Montgrain graduated from MacDonald College with a bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics in 1974. He started his career the same year as a finance analyst at the Office du crédit agricole. He went on to become assistant to the director and then director of the farm and forestry financing department at La Financière agricole du Québec. His track record in the field speaks for itself. Mr. Montgrain is now an investment advisor with FIRA.

 

Raymond Sauvé, investment advisor

Mr. Sauvé graduated from Université Laval in 1977 with a bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics and has extensive experience in farm financing risk management. He began his career as a finance analyst at the Office du crédit agricole. Mr. Sauvé has held various positions at Desjardins, including commercial and farm account manager, finance analyst, and adjustment and recovery advisor. FIRA is delighted to rely on his 30-year experience and broad knowledge of the agriculture sector and benefit from his expertise as an investment advisor.

 

Gervais Duval, investment advisor

Mr. Duval holds a bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics from Université Laval and a graduate degree in administration from Université de Sherbrooke. He is highly experienced in the field of farm and agri-food business financing and has held the positions of finance advisor for the Estrie region, agri-food financing expert for Québec, and assistant director of the farm and forestry financing department at La Financière agricole du Québec.  He now offers his valuable expertise as an investment advisor with FIRA.    

 

Maryse Fillion, investment advisor

A graduate of the Institut de technologie agroalimentaire, in agricultural management consultancy, Ms. Fillion has, over the years, pursued different training programs, including at the Académie du coaching de gestion. She worked as an account manager, agricultural and commercial market, for Desjardins from 1991 to 2014. She is involved in the sector, being herself the owner of an agriculture business. A consultant with the Centre régional d’établissement en agriculture for Chaudière-Appalaches, she helps entrepreneurs, in conjunction with a number of stakeholders in the agriculture sector, to identify and reach their objectives, through strategic planning, the transfer plan, and support for organizational management. FIRA can count on Ms. Fillion’s expertise to provide us with support in her role as investment advisor.
